LA Explodes in Jubilation as Dodgers Secure Second World Series Victory
Los Angeles witnessed widespread festivities after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a nail-biting seven-game World Series championship. Supporters across the globe joined Angelenos in celebration, marking the first time in 25 years that a team has achieved back-to-back championships.
Celebration Parade Draws Enormous Crowds
Local celebrations featured a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a ticketed rally at the team's home stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.
Online footage depict thousands of Los Angeles residents packing downtown streets, many displaying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The squad was seen traveling proudly on a double-decker bus through the masses, hoisting the Commissioner’s trophy high.
“I’m already thinking about the next championship we’re going to achieve this,” Shohei Ohtani stated through an translator.
The procession path ended at Dodger Stadium, where the players emerged to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard spinning music and the artist driving a Pacific blue classic car around the stadium’s outfield.

Festivities started well before the procession, with supporters setting off flares in the roads of the city center on Sunday night.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, awarded the MVP of the championship, commented directly about the win.

However, the team owner received a less warm reception at the rally. Video footage from the event appear to show him taking the stage to a mix of applause and jeers, with jeers punctuating his address.
The championship acted as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for the city. An estimated quarter-million people attended to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player one athlete, fans this year showed equal or greater enthusiasm.
“I feel like it’s nearly twice from last year,” Freeman said. “These fans are crazy. It’s so awesome to be a part of this.”
